New Connector Trail

A new connector trail, linking Greenwood St. to Washington St. and the entrance to the 60-acre public parcel known as the Bailey Trail, has been cleared by Sherborn's able Highway Department. The Conservation Commission is arranging for signage at the trail entrances.  In the meantime, the Greenwood St. entrance can be found opposite #21 Greenwood. The Commission invites you to come take a short walk and enjoy this new public space.   The new quarter-mile trail, made possible by the generous granting of an easement to the town by the Buntin family, winds past rock outcroppings, a stand of mature hemlocks and a vernal pool.  The connector trail crosses a number of minor elevation changes---equestrian users should pass with caution.  All trail users are advised to use utmost care when crossing Washington St. to reach the Bailey Trail.  Happy hiking!

  • Opportunity to support your Conservation Commission   If you would like to support conservation in Sherborn but you don't have time to serve on the Commission or attend meetings, consider joining MACC (Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions) as a Community Member.  MACC provides education, advise and a full-time support staff for not only your Conservation Commission but for Commissions across the Commonwealth.  As a Community Member you will receive all the same benefits as individual MACC members.  Call for information in Sherborn @ 508 651-7863 or call MACC directly @ 617 489-3930.
