The Town of Sherborn Conservation Commission currently
has two job openings. Please see below.
The Town of This is a part-time position that administers the Wetlands and Rivers Protection Acts and the Town’s General Wetlands By-Law, provides technical support and planning assistance to the Conservation Commission, manages town conservation land and conservation land acquisition projects, and coordinates public education and informational programs on natural resources and environmental issues in Sherborn. Requires BA/BS in Environmental Sciences or related field, and three years experience in implementing, administering and enforcing the Wetlands and Rivers Protections Acts, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Qualified candidates will also have strong communication skills (both oral and written) as well as strong organizational and management skills (including managing assistant), with the ability to coordinate diverse community and staff efforts towards defining and achieving Town goals. At least one year of municipal government preferred. Salary range is $21 to 25 per hour, commensurate with experience, plus benefits. Time commitment is about 26-28 hours per week, which includes participation in the Commission’s regular meeting held the third Thursday evening of each month. POSITION AVAILABLE Work with Sherborn’s Conservation Agent on administration of the MA Wetlands Protection Act and the related Sherborn By-Law. Job includes assisting in the processing of applications, preparing deposits and expense vouchers, drafting basic communications, copying, meeting preparation, and maintaining office files. Ten hours per week with some flexibility for additional hours desired. Pay based on experience: $16-19 per hour. To apply, please submit a cover letter, resume, and 2 references.
